I am reading an amazing book, 'Kisses From Katie', published in 2012. This young lady is still in her 20's at present. Katie Davis went to Uganda at 19yo for three weeks, which turned into one year and more, to help at an orphanage. She found herself teaching kindergarten, fostering several beautiful loving but very needy children and launching an NGO to sponsor many of these poor but beautiful, and immensely grateful little ones. Katie came from a comfortable middle class environment and loving family and friends to one of the very poorest countries on earth with the aim to share the great love she found in her heart.

Mission Statement
One way children learn about life's challenges is
from storybooks. My aim is to write stories that children and their
carers can identify with. My stories are largely inspired by real
life events. Events that involve us, our children, or someone we know.
Adventures and mishaps that may be sad or scary, happy or
heart-warming. Valuable lessons are learnt and character is formed by experiencing life's events.

I am entering one of my stories in a writing competition. First prize is a publishing package, second prize is an editing package.

My writing of stories for children had it's debut in early 2012 when my husband rescued a little inanimate but cute something from the wet road outside our place. This little something developed into a story as we looked after it and it became a real little 'him' to which we became quite attached. We decided his story needed to be told. Then we moved house which developed into another story about 'him'. Thus began my inspiration for other stories as well, and now that I have time to think about other things apart from work, the stories are stacking up.
Wow, I have the text for six childrens' picture book stories almost completed.
